We Thought We Were Fighting Each Other | How Astrology Helps Relationships Find Clarity

A couple weeks ago, everything in our house felt off.

Nothing dramatic had happened. No big conflict. No bad news. And still, every conversation between Quetzal and me felt sharp around the edges.

Little things landed wrong. Tone got misread. We were both tired and defensive.

It felt like we were suddenly speaking different languages.

Which made no sense.

We love each other. We’ve built a life together. We work together. We literally help couples communicate for a living.

And still, we kept missing each other.

That’s the part that gets you.

When there’s no clear reason something feels tense, your brain starts inventing one.

Maybe we’re overwhelmed. Maybe something’s wrong. Maybe we’re just burned out.

You start turning a bad week into a bad story. And bad stories hurt relationships more than anything real ever could.

So we did what we always do when something feels bigger than just a mood.

We checked the sky.

Not in a mystical way. More like checking the weather before a road trip.

After studying astrology together for nearly a decade, we’ve learned something simple.

Sometimes it isn’t personal.

Sometimes it’s timing.

When we looked at our charts and the current transits, it was obvious. We were both under pressure at the same time.

Heavy emotional stuff coming up. Old memories getting stirred. Communication foggy. Energy low.

The kind of week where everything feels louder than it actually is.

It wasn’t us.

It was like trying to talk clearly while both of us were underwater. Nothing is wrong. It just takes twice the effort to hear each other.

And here’s the part that still amazes me.

The moment we saw it, we stopped blaming each other. Instantly.

The energy shifted from “Why are you being like this?” to “Oh. We’re both under a lot right now. Let’s slow down.”

That one shift changed everything.

We didn’t try to solve our relationship. We adjusted our timing.

We canceled one meeting. Went for a long walk. Didn’t force heavy conversations. Gave each other more space. Went to bed earlier.

Nothing magical.

Just kinder. More patient. More human.

Within a couple days, it passed.

Like weather.

Because that’s really what this is.

Weather.

Some days are sunny and open. Some days are windy and reactive. Some seasons are for building. Some are for resting.

If you try to plant a garden in January, you don’t blame the soil. You wait for spring.

Astrology is just a way of noticing the seasons of being human.

Not predicting your life. Not telling you who you are. Just giving context.

And context creates compassion.

For yourself. For your partner. For your kids.

Half the fights we see in families aren’t character flaws. They’re tired nervous systems and bad timing.

When people understand that, everything softens.

You stop asking, “What’s wrong with us?” and start asking, “What season are we in?”

That’s a much kinder question. And kinder questions build stronger homes.

This is the heart of what we do at Glyph & Bone.

We don’t predict your future. We translate the weather you’re already standing in so you can move with it instead of fighting it.

If you’re feeling out of sync with your partner, your kids, or even yourself, sometimes a little perspective is all it takes. A map. A language. A reminder that you’re not broken.

You’re just human.

And human lives move in cycles.

We’d love to sit with you and read yours.

Clarity changes everything.
